The Library

The museum library contains literature relevant to Bakkehuset and the authors who were regular visitors there during the Rahbeks’ lifetime. The library also contains Rahbek’s writings and a very fine collection of Ewald’s works. Other literary sources relating to Bakkehuset, for instance letters and manuscripts, are kept in Frederiksberg Library, while the Bakkehus Museum Library acts as a reading room for Frederiksberg Library.

On request, the books in the Library can be taken out one at a time for use on the spot by visitors with a special interest who wish to study Bakkehuset, the visitors to it and its history.
