Families with children

From 2020, the museum has established a new family area called the "Fairy-tale Academy”. This part of the museum is specifically designed for families with children in mind. Here, the Danish Golden Age reveals itself in a slightly different way, and younger visitors can explore and discover for themselves tales and stories that are hidden away in boxes and chests of drawers. Visitors of all ages can expand their knowledge of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tales in the reading corner. It is not possible to take prams or strollers in the museum itself but we do have changing facilities.

Rules for Visitors

Visitors to the museum and the Orangery are welcome to take photographs but the use of a flash is not permitted. The museum, the Orangery and the entire garden are a no-smoking area. For the preservation of the paintings and other exhibited objects we would request our visitors maintain a suitable distance from these. It is not permitted to sit on any of the exhibited furniture. Food and drink may not be consumed in the museum and tables and chairs at the Orangery restaurant are reserved for patrons. Because of the nature of the exhibit, dogs are not allowed on the museum site.

The Frederiksberg Museum

Bakkehuset is part of Frederiksberg Museums, which consists of 3 museums and 2 exhibition sites. The Frederiksberg Museums' combined ticket gives access to all five elements and is valid for one year from the date of purchase.
